1 2 20/04/2020 I am not pleased with the results of this project however they are both very different. I also experimented with filters to adjust the colour and see what effect they had.
19/04/20 I have experimented with pastel colours mainly in shades of purple and pink. I rushed this project due to lack of time and believe I can do better. I will be uploading the contrasting drawing soon.
Horse perspectives in progress. I feel that the first horses fore legs are far too long however I am happy with the result as I struggle to draw horses in general. I started to draw the second horse in one point perspective however I could not erase the second point lines. I will continue to practice and finish the second horse.
I drew trees from an imagined point of view within an image. I feel that this drawing was unsuccessful as I find shading trees difficult and should have spent more time on the trees in the background.
Creating a room using given objects in 2 point perspective- I created a quick sketch in order to plan out the placement of objects within the room and then assembled the room using 2 point perspective. I am not happy with the outcome of this room as the perspective seems off and the room a little too empty however I used all of the given objects within the room and do not think the chair looks terrible. I struggle most with placing objects on top of one another and circular items.
I used colour in this drawing to contrast the objects against my perspective lines. I am not too happy with the outcome as I have used too many perspective points however I did find this very difficult and I am pleased it did not turn out worse.
Here, I have attempted to draw a couch and a door in perspective however I have misplaced my other drawing of the door and could only find this one sheet... I feel the couch is slightly out of perspective but I am happier with these outcomes than my previous attempts at perspective.
We were given the task to create rectangular and cylindrical objects in 1, 2 and 3 point perspective. I feel the wardrobe turned out well however I struggled with the cylindrical objects, a glue stick and a spice jar. I feel my 1 point perspective of the spice jar went well however the others did not. I will continue to practice drawing cylinders in 2 and 3 point perspective to fully understand them.
Taxidermy fox sketch. I did not finish this sketch of a fox from the Hancock Museum however I am proud of it so far. I drew a skeleton movement study of a fox overtop and a muscle study to demonstrate how a fox would move.
Unfinished deer skull studies. I took photos inside the Hancock Museum Newcastle and began to sketch taxidermy animals and skeletons. I struggled to draw the correct angle of this skull and plan to redraw it in the future.
Unfinished skull studies. I planned to show the difference between male and female skull structure. Females appeared to have a longer yet smaller skull and more slope to their forehead.
Unfinished Bone studies of a rib cage, male hips and female hips. I planned to show the difference between gender and bone growth/ body structure. I found that males have a higher iliac Crest than females and thinner hips overall.
Life drawing exercises capturing movement in pencil. The line of action is captured more effectively in these sketches than the previous however I still need to use darker mediums in order to create bold figures.
I chose to use charcoal between these 30 second to 2 minute poses due to the lack of visibility on the paper using a standard pencil. I believe some came out well however I prefer the figures captured in pencil.
Capturing light using an eraser on charcoal background. I believe this piece could have been more successful had I gotten the scale correct. I am disappointed I did not complete it.
I experimented with colour during these poses as I wanted to vary the mediums I used. I enjoy the boldness of which the red hues give off however I found it easier and more pleasant to use the pencil. These poses consisted of 30 second, 2 minute and 5 minutes.
